Project Description
The objectives of the Project are to improve health services and increase their utilization by communities in targeted locations in Nagaland.
The Project consists of the following parts:
Part 1: Community Action for Health and Nutrition
Strengthening the capacity of selected Village Health Committees to oversee, manage and improve health and nutrition services and their utilization through, inter alia, the provision of Health and Nutrition Incentives to selected Village Health Committees.

SOCIAL ASSESSMENT
Nagaland has a population of approximately 2 million (0.16% of India‟s population), spread over 11 districts, 741 blocks and 14052 villages. The State has the density of 119 persons per sq. Km as compared to national average of 382 per sq.km., and North East average of 176 per sq.km., and belongs to five least densely populated states in India (the other states/ UTs includes Sikkim, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh and Andaman and Nicobar Islands).
